Trees for Streamside Planting – Application deadline Aug 1, 2019
NYS DEC Trees for Tribs program is now accepting applications for Fall planting projects. This is a program that offers free trees and shrubs for streamside plantings. The link below has more information.
Do you own or manage land along a stream? You can apply for free native plants to help reduce erosion and improve habitat along your stream. The Hudson Estuary Trees for Tribs program offers free native trees and shrubs for planting along the tributary streams in the Hudson River Estuary watershed. If your project is selected, you must recruit volunteers for planting and maintain the site after the planting is complete.
The application deadline is August 1 for a planting in fall, but applicants are strongly encouraged to apply before the deadline. Large sites will be given preference. For more information or to download an application, please visit DEC’s website.
