Seasonal Employment (Recreation Dept.)

Each summer the Recreation Department hires the following part-time positions:

  • Gate Guards: (ages 14+, must have working papers) responsibilities include:
    1. welcome guests to park
    2. check for park permits
    3. record visitor information
    4. shifts are Friday, Saturday & Sunday only

  • Camp Counselors (ages 16+, four 1-week camp sessions (M-F)) responsibilities include:
    1. help during arts & crafts, games and swimming activities
    2. must enjoy working with children ages 5-10 years of age
    3. assisting during snack and lunch times

  • Volunteer Counselor (ages 15+) This is an UNPAID position
    1. earn service hours by working with the youth in summer camp
    2. assist counselors in activities

  • Lifeguards (ages 16+, must have proper certifications) responsibilities include:
      1. monitor safety of visitors in/ near the swimming pond
      2. complete necessary paperwork for the Health Dept.
      3. Pond opens weekends starting Memorial Day weekend until late June, then fulltime until Labor Day.

Application Forms:   Complete the following forms online then print out and submit (these can be done instead of the paper copies in the employment forms).
